How many things are there to do in Spain? Too many to mention in just one article, but I could start little by little introducing you to all the wonders of this wonderful country that has so much to offer. Visiting Spain with children could be a lot of fun, its not all museums and cathedrals there are activities for all ages.
One of the wonders of the sea are whales, in Tarifa, Cadiz province, and, above all, the Canary Islands, with Tenerife heading this list you can set up a tour that will take you deep in the ocean where you and your family will be able to view up and close whales and dolphins while they jump all around you. Visit each towns tourist center for more information on daily tours.

Joaquin Cortes the very famous (and may I add the very sexy) flamenco dancer from Cordoba is a treat for the eye. Born in 1969 to a gypsy family, started his dance training at 12 years old and soon joined the National Ballet of Spain where through the years became a soloist for the well known company. Now as a solo performer he has traveled all around the world and performed with such prestigious dancers as Maya Plisetskaya, Silvie Guillem, Peter Schauffuss, to name a few.
His roots are well established in Spain and he is considered one of the best flamenco artist of his time. Around the world he has been able to use his talent (and yes his looks) to help make Spain´s most famous art a must see affair for all. His dancing is hypnotic, strong and affectionate. I´m in awe when I watch him move and don´t want it to ever end.
He has been recently named Romes ambassador to the EU, which should make the south of Spain proud as can be.

One of the main attractions to the Costa Blanca, Spain are the beautiful beaches, and the Levante and Poniente beaches of Benidorm are one of the favorites. These beaches are a year round attraction thanks to the mild weather.

I was reading an article the other day that stated that Spain was number 5 in a list of European countries as far as the quality of life for children and I agree. I was born in Madrid but lived most of my life in the United States and have recently relocated back to my home country. The decision to move to Spain was for our children. Spain offers them a great education, great gastronomy, parks, festivals and a culture that can´t be beat.
Children in Spain are respected and taken care of like no one else. Everything is made with them in mind and they are allowed to express their freedom while knowing the are part of a great community that is fast growing. We love it here and think it is the best thing we have done for our children.

I have not been to this part of the world since I was a little girl but I could still remember the hot summer days in the south of Spain living the good life with my parents at my side. One of the little towns that I remember the most is Mijas. This little village is one of the most beautiful spots in the Costa del Sol. It is nestled in the mountainside 428 meters above sea level. It is a great vacation spot so much so that it has become home to all those foreign visitors who came to see and just couldn´t leave. There are probably more English speaking people in this town than the Spanish native tongue.
When you start to wonder around this little town you will notice that even thought English is spoken often the city has maintained its traditional Andalusian feel and the locals make you feel welcome and show you around with up most pleasure. The town is full of craft shops that hold great hand made pottery and paintings some from acclaimed local artists such as Don Clarke and Michele Lehmann. Take a tour through this city and bring extra luggage in case you decide to stay a little longer than you originally planned.
