Posted by julia on 05 Jun 2007 | Tagged as: cities to visit, festivals

Avila is the city where one of my grandfathers was born and I treasure it like it was my own. I love to go there and see the murals of so long a go, there is so much history here. 1,117 meters above sea level, it is the highest capital of Spain. The city is surrounded by ancient city walls that still hold the test of time. A quiet town, not too many people add to their atenirany but should.

If you decide to visit this city in the end of June, you will be able to enjoy the “Avila en Tapas” celebration which will be held from the 28 th of June through the 1st of July with the colaboration of 41 restaurants that will show off their best miniture tapas. I´m hungry already!!

Women and Wine tours

Posted by julia on 27 Apr 2007 | Tagged as: cities to visit, wine

I found this great website titled Women & Wine, just my kind of place. They have a small community that caters to women and their love of travel, and of course great wine. They have a mini wine shopping area where you can buy anything dealing with wine.

But what does this have to do with Spain you ask? Well it seems they arrange wine tours all over the United States and Europe. All you need to do is let them know where you want to go, how many people in your party and they take it from there. Great idea if you don’t know where to start.
