Ok, so Spain is known more for its wine, beaches and monuments but they also have beer. Cruz Campo is one of the most popular here in Spain. One of their sayings is “its color dazzles. Its flavor refreshing, it invites you to repeat. But the best of everything is when you share a beer with your friends. That is when the best part of the day arrives”.
Pretty much sums up the drinking sport here in Spain… try it if you can.

The celebrations have officially started and will come to a close March 19th in Valencia with the Fallas (torches). This is a great time to come visit Valencia, the city practically comes to a stand still while all the giant papier-mâché figures are put out for display and eventually are torched by the end of the week. Burning papier mache is not the only attraction of this party, the display of fireworks, the parades with the court of women dressed in the traditional Valencian gear is a site to see.

I think it’s almost everyone’s dream to retire in a place where the sun shines 365 days a year, where the life is relaxed, the food is good and the quality of life even better. Spain for some years now has topped the charts in preferred places to retire, with residents from the UK making it their number one choice. So, if you are one of those people who dream of retiring in Spain, read on..
Tenerife news state: “Protecting your wealth in retirement is a key factor in living the lifestyle you dreamed of in Spain. Reviewing your financial arrangements will help to make sure that you do.”
Another article by Assetz points out things to be aware of when relocating to another country. If you are sure you want to retire in Spain you first need to start your savings plan and start looking for an investment property way ahead of your retirement date. You should start to look into any tax laws which will prevent you from receiving your home country retirement in full and talk to financial experts early on, so they can start a retirement plan that is right for you.
With a little planning, a lot of savings and a dream you will be living the Spanish life in no time.

I could think of many more but I decided to ask around and find out why some foreigners live in Spain. Here are the top 5 reasons given to me as to why the felt that Spain offered them everything they needed and wanted.
The number one reason many people move to this part of the world is the climate. The Mediterranean region has one of the best climates in any part of the world. In parts such as Alicante, Benidorm, Murcia, Malaga and the southern part of the country the sun shines almost 365 days a year.
The second reason for leaving everything behind and moving to Spain is the gastronomy. Many people feel the healthy lifestyle and fresh foods offered within the different regions, specially the Mediterranean diet as well as the grand selection of wines and cavas are well worth the move.
The third top reason given was that of the language. Many people came as students to Spain and just never left. They feel Spanish is one of the most important languages in the world and want to be part of the Spanish society.
The fourth reason given was the culture of the country. Spain has a little of everything to offer, from the mountains to the beach and cold and warm weather even different dialects spoken in different areas. It makes it as if you are living in many different countries in one.
And the last reason given is the people. Spanish people are warm, friendly and courteous.
So there you have it, in a nutshell. Are you ready to give it a try?

Ibiza is often called the white Island for its typical architecture but it is mostly known as a party island. It all started back in the 1960´s when Ibiza became home to many hippies that made their home there, making nudist beaches a normal part of life. Nowadays, even though it still continues to be a town for the young to be wild and free, it offers a lot more than that for people of all ages this includes families.
There are two ways to get to Ibiza, you can take a boat there or simply fly in. Once there you can visit Ibiza’s historical center, located at the top of the hill and enclosed by town-walls where you can see the cathedral, Museum of Punic Art, and the archaeological museum. But, the beaches are the protagonist of this tiny island. Relax in any point you find and get ready to party if you are up for it. You will not be bored at any time.

Spain is not only a great sightseeing country with beautiful sites, culture and food, it is also known for its wild night life. No where in the world can you party like in Spain. I can speak from experience, and I could tell you this party town does not sleep.
You can party almost anywhere in this country but the most known for the spectacular late nights anything goes cities are Ibiza, Madrid and Barcelona. There is no limit to what you will discover. Discos such as the famous Pacha are an experience you will never forget.
Night life in Spain usually does not begin until about 1 am and there is no curfew for this lively city. The best advice I received on one of my first adventures out at night in Spain was a friend who told me “make sure to bring your sunglasses”, not sure what that meant at the time but soon found out when at 8 am we were in line to go in to an “after hours” club..

If February is Carnival month in Spain well then March should be “Fallas” month. This is one of the biggest festivals in Valencia and probably one of the most popular and well known around the world. The week of the Fallas are full of fireworks, processions in honor of Saint Joseph and lots of celebration.
This festival attracts more than 2 million people to this part of Spain who all come, intrigued to find out what this celebration is all about. Once here they become part of this long time tradition. They watch in awe as the large paper maiche caricature figures of both nationally an internationally celebrities and objects (some measuring up to 4 meters high) are burnt, the highlight of these fiestas.
If you are afraid of fire don´t worry the government of Valencia is well equipped with more than 250 firemen who can deal with anything and are prepared for everything. Fireworks are also one of the biggest parts of these Fallas and can be heard for miles away.
If you are daring and love noise and excitement, you need to visit Valencia and enjoy the celebration of the year.

Well, the new year is here so let the new holidays begin. Spain has many different holidays each month in each region. Starting in February with the carnival in Santa Cruz de Tenerife (the second most important holiday in the world right after Rio de Janeiro) and continuing throughout the country.
This is a time of the year to celebrate to a latin beat. There is a huge parade which honors its chosen carnival queen and her court for that year, there are costume contests, and music, dancing and lots of energy all around the streets. Each city celebrates a little differently but one thing is for sure the fun and excitement is the same throughout this cheerful country.
