I have not been to this part of the world since I was a little girl but I could still remember the hot summer days in the south of Spain living the good life with my parents at my side. One of the little towns that I remember the most is Mijas. This little village is one of the most beautiful spots in the Costa del Sol. It is nestled in the mountainside 428 meters above sea level. It is a great vacation spot so much so that it has become home to all those foreign visitors who came to see and just couldn´t leave. There are probably more English speaking people in this town than the Spanish native tongue.
When you start to wonder around this little town you will notice that even thought English is spoken often the city has maintained its traditional Andalusian feel and the locals make you feel welcome and show you around with up most pleasure. The town is full of craft shops that hold great hand made pottery and paintings some from acclaimed local artists such as Don Clarke and Michele Lehmann. Take a tour through this city and bring extra luggage in case you decide to stay a little longer than you originally planned.
