The Siesta way of life

What is a siesta? Well, there is the general definition of the word, but what does it really mean to the Spaniards. Spain is a country full of great customs, all of them in one way or another deal with food, parties, and yes the best one of all the SIESTA.

A siesta is referred to the time in the middle of the day usually right after lunch time, where people lay down, close their eyes and rest for about an hour to get ready for the rest of the day. One of the best inventions ever. It simply means taking time off to relax and forget about the world while our bodies recover from the days stress.

From the outside world, this might be looked at as lazy and not productive but many studies show that it is recommended to rest in the middle of the day. A siesta could help reduce cardiovascular diseases, and highly reduces stress.

So, go ahead put your head down without any guilt and live the siesta way of life.
