You might think that the Prado Museum is the only one to visit while you are in Madrid but don’t forget a visit to the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection Foundation. This museum holds more than 700 years of history and art through its paintings and masterpieces.

This museum is under the patronage of His Majesty Don Juan Carlos I, King of Spain which is a non profit organization with funding for the purpose for conserving, studying, exhibiting and publishing collections of art.

You can do the chronological tour which starts on the second floor where you can experience the birth of art observing the mediaeval symbolism in paintings, Renaissance period, all the way to 20th century art.
